How to save more money and spend less as we walk into the warm seasons.

Do you feel the warm breeze in the air yet? Chances are, if you live in New York, you're probably hella confused as to why the Spring Time is having a bipolar moment. One day she is feeling 89 Degrees, one day she's raining harder than my tears in the shower after a long month or three. But hey, global warming doesn't exist right? Anyways, welcome to the Spring Equinox; la Primavera is here, ladies!!! It's time to bust out some of those tight sundresses and cute sandals, and get your closet ready for the warm seasons ahead! But don't forget... this includes your wallet too, babes.

If you don't know me yet, my name is Shantel Sanchez. Your favorite Mental Wealth Girlie that's here to help you get your Wealth & Health together! As a fellow Dominican-New Yorker, I come with lots of love, and lots of sass. But it's for your own benefit, so please keep up, sis. We don't have any more time to waste. CHOP CHOP!!!

I love the Spring Time. It makes me feel like a cute little fairy, constantly enjoying the sun and showing juuuuuust enough skin to give the boys a run for their money. It's entertaining to watch.

You can look, but don't touch. Or else.

Now, as fun as that can be. Spring could also be very dangerous. For our wallets, I mean. It's really easy to get carried away with overspending on the things that make us really happy. Especially if we don't have a personal "limit", budget, or overall financial discipline. As #FinanciallyLitGirlies, we MUST we super aware of our financial decisions so that we don't keep making the same mistakes and go broke. THAT is hella #BadForBusiness, okay?!

This is not going to be your case. You will not go broke during this Warm Weather SZN because you are going to take notes of the following:

5 Financial Tips to Stay Disciplined While Still Having Fun!

Now that we’ve introduced your topic with a short and catchy title, it’s time to write your introductory paragraph. This is your chance to grab your reader’s attention. You can explain why you are the best person to give advice on this topic; share a personal story that reflects your own experience on the subject; and/or highlight common mistakes that can be avoided once applying your useful tips.

Tip #1 - Plan Your #PaidGirlSummer Ahead of Time

Babygirl, please do not forget that you need to be MAKING MONEY as much and more than you will be spending money. If you need a side hustle, no problem. There are various ways to make extra coins without having to stay in that office job that you hate so much, all spring and summer long. Look into virtual jobs that you can work on from the comfort of anywhere that has wifi. Or simply get a sugardaddy to sponsor you. Whatever you're into. (Just kidding. Please don't.)

Format each tip's title to H2 to keep your post neat.

Tip #2 - Review Your Budget

Show me what you're working with! If you want to have fun, the funds gotta be right! Take a look at your income, expenses (both fixed and variable), and see what you have left over to put towards your outings, brunches, and adventures. Stick to the budget. Do not selfishly overspend. However, do adjust your budget if necessary to account for any changes in income or expenses.

Tip #3 - Face Your Debts

Trust me, you look real clownish when you're out there pretending to have a #PaidGirlSummer without actually paying off your debt.... PLEASE look for ways to reduce your debt, such as consolidating high-interest credit cards or negotiating lower interest rates.

Here's something I did a few years ago, possibly even during the 2020 pandemic. I called some companies, and I legit told them, "Hey, I'm broke as hell right now. I literally cannot afford to pay this in full, what is the lowest I can pay? I want to take care of this debt, but financially I'm not where I want to be to take care of this at a faster rate. Can you help me?" BOOM, I paid off a couple bills within a few months. Try it. It may or may not work for you. But, it doesn't hurt to try.

Tip #4 - Set Financial Goals

Be intentional with your time and money. Plan for the upcoming months and track your progress regularly. It's a great way to stay on top of your finances. Start by identifying your priorities and creating a budget that reflects your goals. Then, track your spending and adjust your budget as needed to stay on track. Remember to celebrate your progress along the way!

Tip #5 - Bring In The Big Dogs
